Day 3 Of NOT Getting In

Okay, so our title sounds a bit cynical, but seriously, I got shot down two times today. While we do have a list of shows we can definitely attend, Sam, papierdoll’s business manager, and I went ahead and got all uppity and tried to get into some swanky shows not in the plan. We strutted on into the tents and got in line for the 7pm Tuleh show, acting like we were on the list and when security found out we were not, we got some dirty looks and a “next please” from those in charge of ‘The List.’ I even captured this not so glorious moment for papierdoll’s history. It’s the one on the left of the staircase into the show where we are not going. Yeah, someday when are famous (fingers crossed) we’ll frame this photo of us ‘not getting in.’
Rejection numero dos has got be one of the hardest, yet funniest in a twisted sort of way. So Sam calls the Luca Luca PR person, who just happened to be in the office on Sunday, I guess taking in last minute RSVPs. Sam tells her we RSVPd…but we didn’t get any word back. She replies, “Oh ok, there’s not a lot of room so you may not get a seat, are you ok with standing?” Sam says, “sure,” as I am waving to him wildly giving him directions on how to sweet talk her into getting in. She asks, “Who are you with again?” Sam says….”Papierdoll.” Talk about closing the door of opportunity with a foot halfway in. She immediately shuts him down saying…and I quote…”Uhhh…yeah…we received your e-mail you weren’t invited and there’s no more room. **Click**”
Ouch.
Somebody must have told them about the Vera Wang thing.
On a more positive note, we will be attending plenty of shows throughout the week, legally we hope.

Sounds like Fashion Week is everything you ever dreamed it would be, including snooty exclusions by self-important nincompoops!
