Boston, MA cool city..lacks vintage…unless I missed something here!

Hello fellow fashionistas. Sorry I haven’t written in awhile, but the show (Ebony Fashion Fair) has been hectic as well as time consuming. I find myself, always wondering what to write about because there is so much you can talk about, fashion wise, that pertains to Ebony Fashion Fair (EFF). Therefore, I am going to talk about my vintage adventure in good ole’ bean town….Boston, MA. We arrived in Boston on Sept. 25th and I feel in love at first sight with the marina located right across from the Seaport Hotel (this is where our show was being held). Didn’t have much time to go shopping that day because I didn’t get back to my hotel from the fashion show until around 7pm and on a Sunday we all know the stores are closed.

The next day (Sept. 26th) I venture out to Newbury St., which from what I am told is like the Rodeo Dr. of Boston. But I have never been prisoner to label stores such as La Perla, Gucci, Prada, etc. Whenever I go to a new city I always, always scout out the vintage or consignment stores. Due to my oversleeping ( I was tired as hell), I was unable to truly check out all the vintage/consignment stores I could find.

So I came across one particular store, Second Time Around, and was in heaven when I walked in . Second Time Around has two stores located on Newbury St. and the first one I went to was the one located at 176 Newbury St. There I was greeted by an extremely friendly and knowledgeable sales associate, but forgot her name in the hunt for the perfect black slacks. Which I did happen to find - Diana von Furstenburg tuxedo pants for $30. Unheard of ! I also bought a beautifully beaded cardigan for $16 and a vintage Cartier wallet, that matches I purse I have, for $40.

Having been extremely satisfied with my purchases, the lady behind the counter directed me to go to their second store located at 252 Newbury St., which I did. There I found a boat load of items: A Prada skirt for $60, Louis Verdad top for $40, and Adidas vest for $12. Crazy huh! My thoughts exactly.

At the end of my mini consignment excursion, I spent about $150 total on everything and although I may not have much money to eat for the rest of the week, I will fashionably full.

Note: Second Time Around is located in Boston, MA at the following locations:
176 Newbury St. (617)247-3504
252 Newbury St. (617)266-1113
