LAFW: Meghan

It’s simple why this show worked for me. Aside from the fact that the line shares the same name with our hardworking newswriter, the line dared to be different.

It’s always been a personal opinion of mine that, retreads work only for counterfeiters. Fashion designers really have to bring something different to the table every single season. The Meghan show really did that. It did it to such great effect that I felt like approaching the designer afterwards to shake her hand.

Where to start?

There was a beautiful purplish halter dress with ornate costume jewelry around the neck hanging to the midsection that was simply divine. I grew attached to this orange flower print dress, though they really screwed up putting bright white shoes with the piece, I would have gone with a more muted color. The piece of the night was this black number that I will buy immediately, no hesitation. While some of the items looked like they needed more work, (another black dress that just had too much going on near the shoulder straps and arms with flower petals all over the place) I get the direction and can’t wait to see her designs next season.
