OK, this has nothing to do with fashion at all today.
You know what I find most disturbing? Friendships and Relationships. I personally don’t have many friends and limit my relationships because I have been screwed with them one to many times. When a relationship ends, when does it end? If the other person tells you they want nothing to do with you, why get mad if they think that something is going on with someone else?
Can a pair of ex’s be friends? I have remained friends with people I have dated but not long-term relationships. What’s the point? All the messy weird feelings just got all worked up again. Especially when they can do whatever and get pissed if you do something. Same as friends when you think someone is there for you and they are clearly not. Most of my friends can’t see past themselves, but they are quite entertaining- I mean isn’t always entertaining to see someone more messed up then you?
Maybe we need an ask the relationship expert section. Get on it Sam!!

Shhhhh!!!!
What’s more fashionable than protecting ourselves? Trojan has a new line just for us! Of course there are the condoms, but there is also an entire intimate line. Massage gel and oils, cleansing clothes, and yes a vibrating ring. Hopefully the new line will make ladies a little less shy about purchasing and carrying condoms. Hey don’t leave it up to the guys-and at least you can have a little fun with these.

Dutch at the edge of design
Went to see an interesting exhibit a couple of days ago at FIT called Dutch at the edge of Design. It’s an amalgam of fashion and textiles from the Netherlands. It features designs from Viktor & Rolf, Marcel Wanders, Nicolette Brunklaus and many others. The exhibit vaguely notes that Dutch designers are unlike their European and American counterparts in that they rarely conform to “traditional” market demands and refrain from commercialism. The exhibit features 75 examples of Dutch fashion spread over 30 designers. It’s definitely a different look at fashion. You can see the European influence but definitely not the same old, same old from the London-Milan-Paris crowd.

We don’t like this, not even for $422
Somehow, someway, someone thought they could charge the public $422 for this coat. Yes, the designer is Bob Marley’s daughter, yes we loved Bob, but you have to draw the line somewhere and $422 is that somewhere.
The nerve…

The Melrose Co-op
The Melrose Co-op takes Los Angeles and puts it on the fashion map. Each week the Melrose Co-op features a rotating cast of 10-15 designers selling their samples, overstock and creations at 30-70% off of retail. This is not like the online shops that promise percentages off retail when the price is really a significant markup. (you know who we are talking about)
This is the real deal.
It all happens in a large climate controlled photograhy studio. There are fitting rooms, complimentary beverages for shoppers and more all happening at this weekly event.
More info:
The Melrose Co-op
@ 7600 Melrose Avenue, 2nd Floor
(corner of Melrose & Curson)

Every Sunday, 11:00 am to 5:30 pm
