Shoe obsessions are never in vain- especially if they help feed someone this holiday. Anyone can own the latest fierce Manolos, custom Pumas or the freshest, limited edition kicks from Japan. But imagine you were the proud owner of Carson Kressley’s “Devil” Oscar slippers or Ivana Trump’s well-heeled pumps…signed no less!
No need to sweat it out at Sotheby’s this Thanksgiving…celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Russell Simmons, Ivana Trump, Carson Kressley, Star Jones, Rosario Dawson, MC Lyte, multi-platinum producer, Swizz Beatz, famed music-video choreographer Laurie-Ann Gibson and ESPN’s Bobbitto Garcia and many others have emptied their stuffed shoe wardrobes and donated their autographed shoes to join athletes such as Serena Williams, Jaromir Jagr of the New York Rangers, Amanda Beard and hot designers such as Carmen Marc Valvo, Jimmy Choo, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jill Stuart, Due Farina, Diesel, Michele K, PHI, Phillipe and David Blond and B’eautique- all who are donating signed and uber-designer shoes for The Celebrity Shoe Auction with proceeds to benefit City Harvest, www.cityharvest.org, one of New York City’s most-loved charities, who’s mission it is to collect food from restaurants, caterers, hotels with surplus food and distribute it to New York’s hungry.
The auction is presented by Martini and Rossi Asti; New York Magazine, ecco shoes and The Bubbly, www.thebubbly.com, the vibrant, onlinelifestyle magazine, covering all things upscale in Soho and Tribeca, in celebration of its one-year anniversary. Hosted by : Miss Meghan,

Fashion Can be Unfair =(
Traveling, I really want this:

@ $1820
But can only afford this:

@ $150
Fashion can be unfair at times…
Depressed and Broke
I know that last week I wrote about throwing all the clothes on the floor. Well due to a busy weekend they are still there, waiting to be baggged and sent off to those who really need clothes. I guess it is shelfish of me to be depressed about not being able to buy clothes even from my favorite thrift stores when some people have no clothes at all. I encourage us all as the weather gets colder and the holidays approach to look through your closet, and the stuff that lands on the floor- give to someone who needs it.

Fashion is haunted by trends of seasons past. Normally you’ll find yourself wincing at old photos from an earlier decade when shoulder pads were in. Bell bottoms are now the thing as illustrated by our retro article this month.... [Go]
