Virgin Mobile is willing to turn anything into a publicity-whorefest (remember Richard Branson’s The Rebel Billionaire?) and so naturally they have produced a commercial that will garner them buckets of publicity by poking good-humored fun at Kate Moss’ downward career spiral and comeback. You can watch the commercial for yourself: the gist of the commercial is that an agent calls Kate and tells her that he has a huge contract for her (Moss lost many of her lucrative contracts when she checked into rehab for a cocaine addiction, in case you have been living in Kuala Lumpur for the past several months and didn’t know this), and the twist at the end is that it is not a huge new modeling contract but rather a Virgin Mobile contract for cell phone service. And the tagline (a punch line for Moss) is: “A Contract Worth Keeping.”
Advertising genius.
Sadly the commercial is playing in the UK, and so on the other side of the big pond we are stuck with their Happy ChristmaHanuKwanzaKa! commercials.

there is something i REALLY need to know so please, please i beg your help!!!
At the end of the ad, the shop assistant in the virgin mobile store says “Does she need a case with that?”; as a non-english speaking native, i’m trying to know if there is any double-meaning in this sentence. Is it some kind of joke related with her use of drugs? Or is it just an innocent question?
i hope someone can help… thank you!
