The Janice Dickinson Project

Let me be the first to speak badly about Janice Dickinson. We all know Janice Dickinson (the first supermodel…yadda..yadda) and if we don’t know her, good. It’s not that I have a problem with her starring in yet another new reality TV series. No. No, that’s not the problem. The problem lies in the fact that her reality series is the same as the reality series she came from. She was a judge on America’s Next Top Model, and now she is starring in (tentatively titled) The Janice Dickinson Project as what else, a judge for a new set of models.

The premise of the show is simple. She starts with 500 aspiring models, whittles them down to 5. The five winners will eventually be the first models represented by her brand new modeling agency. One hand washes the other. If that is not a hackneyed, retread, overdone concept I don’t know what is.

To make matters worse, Dickinson’s show will debut on the aformentioned Oxygen “network.” That network never took off for me. You would think at the very least her “show” would debut on Bravo. UPN would be out of the question considering they already have a model show with…guess who? Janice Dickinson.

So I propose a pre-New Year’s toast to Janice Dickinson who is leading the charge with original programming on TV.

Cheers.
