Interview with a Vampire

John Galliano decided that blood, skeletons, whips and chains are long overdo in the world of haute couture. His collection for Dior was dramatic, magical and bordered on scary/sexy. The Dior show opened 3 days of haute couture fashion here in Paris. The models looked as if they were apparitions straight out of a surrealistic French Revolution. Their hair was bleached white, dark rims painted around their eyes and the color red was absolutely EVERYWHERE.

My favorite piece (and a crowd pleaser) was an ecru dress with a huge tulle skirt with the slogan prominently displayed: “liberte, egalite and fraternite.”

Security was ultra tight for this show, but being a student has its privleges. I will be catching the Dominique Sirop show later today and the Franck Sorbier show on Wednesday. The season has started.
