The show just can’t start

without Madonna. I didn’t attend the John Paul Gaultier show, but fellow friends who did told me that it absolutely would not start until the arrival of the material one. (I hope that’s what we are still calling her or I will look very dated)
It only started after everyone settled down and she (and the other celebrities) were properly taken care of in the front row. Now that’s celeb power. What do you say to that?
My report on the other two shows I attended will be coming later today.

Punk Betty meets Classic Beauty…

I know this has nothing to do with the world of vintage fashion, except for the fact that these Harpers Bazaar images do exude a classic, vintage look. However, I just had to post these pics of the new Avril Lavigne. She kinda looks a little Nicole Kidman-ish in these pictues. She has just been giving a top modeling contract with Ford Modeling agency also.
I’m never one to rain on anyone’s transformation parade. She does look very polished and cleans up quite well. I just hope her music doesn’t turn as SOFT as her new look. Rock on Avril!!!

That 20s ish pump
I was looking for a pump that said Roaring 20s. The time before the depression. It’s 2006, but there’s never any harm in going back. The problem is, there are so many shoes we see on the runway that fit the description but the transition to retail is always less-than-stellar.
Enter Tod’s Coupe Pump. While I try not to shill very often, I have to say that these shoes are absolutely my item for the season. I especially love the sparing (but necessary) use of green.
