Drag Queens, prostitutes, transexuals and that was just the lobby! Everyone, and I mean everyone, tried to get into the sassiest show during fashion week- Heatherette! Richie Rich and Traver Rains out-did themselves with this AMAZING collection which was an “Ode to New York”.
The collection was shown on a runway of piano keys (think Tom Hanks in Big), back flipping models and ballerinas introduced a collection that was inspired by everything from the trashiest street to the top of the Chrysler Building. Full skirts and dresses kept up with the young, playful silhouettes we are used to from this dynamic duo. Other inspirations were suits made for Broadway dreams, shirts with graffiti themes and one major feather number worn by none other but the queen for the Queens- Naomi.
The Heatherette Muse and NY “it” girl Amanda Lepore sent out a message to anyone who has ever come to this town with an idea, dream, or just because: Dreams do come true in New York City.
My favs:
The NY Skyline gown Empire in the middle, Chryslers on both sides, Full skirt, high waisted can-can dress.

Highpoint:
Meeting and having a wonderful convo with Jay McCarroll winner of Project Runway, proving there are still real humans roaming NY.
