This is Why I am a Jimmy Choo Girl…

Eric Boman, a photographer and friend of Manolo Blahnik, said on behalf of Manolo: “Manolo thinks—which is very unfair—he thinks it’s [Sex and the City] vulgarized his name.”

If by “vuglarized”, he means “driven exponential profits through free PR that most designers would sacrifice their first born for,” then we see his point. Actually, since most designers are gay males, that is a bad analogy. How about: “give up their summer home in Capri for”? Yep, that seems about right.

Considering Manolo designed an SJP shoe in honor of Sarah Jessica Parker, maybe Mr. Boman is just jealous of the Manolo-Sarah Jessica bond, since she has obviously done more for Manolo than Boman’s still life photographs of Blahnik’s shoes ever will (though, to be fair, it is a remarkable fashion-meets-art project).

This is why I am a Jimmy Choo girl… and by that, I mean if I could afford $500 shoes, I would be a Jimmy Choo disciple. Though JC is on my “bad list” right now too for featuring Nicole Richie in its latest ad campaign… could we please reward people who actually contribute to society with some ad contracts?

Yes, I am the ranting bitch of this blog,
Natalie

I’m not sure seeing Mom Theresa toting at a Jimmy snakeskin bag would help sales.
