Eye makeover at Chanel

Browsing around the local Chanel Counter, I was intrigued by the purples in their spring preview. Purple is a difficult eye color - what is meant to be sophisticated can turn clownish at the flick of a brush.
Starting with the Professional Eye Shadow Base in lilac, Melinda, sales assistant extraordinaire, brushed the shimmery liquid shadow from lash line almost to the browbone. It had a nice consistency and the brush made it easy to apply, with a little finger blending the base alone alone made for a pretty, pearly look.
But, it was the Silky Eyeshadow Duo in star dust that I had my eye on. Malinda applied the lighter, more shimmery shade on the inside third of my lid. Then, the darker shade went on in an inverted V, with the point centering on my crease. The look was definitely glam and non-clowny. For an evening look I think this would be great.
The base also really helped the shadow to stay put on my bare lids. I usually have a laborious eye shadow base process I go through before attempting the actual eye color, but even with out it this stuck. The base seemed to really adhere to my skin and the shadow clung to it well. The products were also very light-feeling, and my contacts weren’t bothered at all.
A+ for the big C.

If you can truly pull off purple then more power to you. I’m more of a skintone girl myself. Whatever matches, I am wearing. May be a little boring but it works

The sily eyeshadow duo is very cool. It helps that you have that makeup person applying it. Try doing it yourself at home. ugh

As far as knowing how to do it at home, a lot of times sales assistants will do one eye for you and then have you do the other. That’s what I did with this, and I swear my husband couldn’t tell which eye was “professional” and which I did.
If they don’t offer you this option, just ask if you can do the other eye! I hate to think there’s an eye look out there that you want but can’t master!

I LOVE purple eye shadow. According to a complimentary eye make up session I had, purple is my color. Your Chanel purple duo sounds awesome. I heard that Chanel eye shadows apply really well and the color comes out very nice and shiny. Good to hear it confirmed. Must look into this myself! And well done achieving the professional look on your own!
