    The fake photoshoot

    Fakewear

While our photographers are diligently searching for the next great fashion moment on the street. Swindle magazine decided to highlight the best in what I like to call fakeware. You know, counterfeit, cheap, canal street stuff. Instead of hassling themselves with exclusive luxury showrooms, they did it up with beautiful models and knockoffs of Gucci, LV etc. Got to love originality.

    On the streets of Paris

fashion in parisHave to love the New York Times fashion section. While the gods of fashion told the world what was going to be “in” on the runways, the ladies on the street (who must always look good), had something else in mind

    Carnivale of the Couture

    Gwyn and Apple

This week, the lovely shoelover is hosting the Carnivale of the Couture with the question:

If you could exchange your life with that of any one particular fashion “celebrity” (Shoelover will use that term loosely), whose life would it be and why?

Well, anyone who knows me could predict that I would chose Gwyneth Paltrow. Style-wise I would choose her because whether it’s in her films, on the red carpet or just running around (or scooting around London - so cool!) she is just the ultimate in seemingly effortless yet well thought out chic.

    Gwyn oscars

For the most part, she looks fab on the red carpet. And those blunders she has made just makes me like her more for taking risks and not always being perfect.

    Gwyneth on set

My favorite of her movies, style-wise, is The Talented Mr. Ripley. I couldn’t find the exact picture (above she is seen on set with Matt Damon) but I love when she’s in Tom’s apartment and flicks off her glove. So chic! That movie is actually one of my favorite movies fashion-wise. It is also when I fell for Cate Blanchett.

But I digress. I would also love to be Gwyneth because she has a loving marriage with a brilliant musician and a lovely, healthy daughter. Who wouldn’t want that? (Oh yea, and the ability to be alternately fresh faced and glam at will….sigh.)

LA Fall 2006 Fashion Week: Agent Provocateur

Joe Corre and Serena Rees’ runway designs for Agent Provocateur’s Fall 2006 show vacillated between angelic and devilish – whichever turns you on!

A balance of frills and thrills for bras, panties, corsets and teddies blended naughty and nice for sultry skivvies perfect for under-your-clothes or beneath-the-sheets.

The lingerie provides seductive peeks and suggestive cuts, but remains classy and expensive-looking (because no one wants to look like a $10 hooker, no matter how nasty you like it).

As someone who sleeps wrapped in Ralph Lauren leopard print bed sheets each night, I was pleased to see so much animal print on display.

This line is sure to awaken the sex kitten (or prowling lioness) in all of us.
