Dressing for the latest accessory - a baby
If life events like motherhood can ever “be in fashion” being a new mom certainly is all the rage right now. So much so that maternity wear has become one of the fastest growing facets of fashion. This season’s empire waists even have me feeling like regular clothes are more suitable for expectant moms these days.
But what about after the baby?
If you know any new Mommies celebrating their first Mother’s Day this May (warning: it’s less than a month away!) then Milkdudz might make the perfect gift.
Frustrated with the unfashionable attire available for mothers AFTER giving birth - when they were ready to breastfeed - Milkdudz founders Kiersten Wall and Stephanie Schulte decided to create under- and outer-wear specifically for breastfeeding mothers.
The “Babymina” above is inspired by vintage rock album covers. It’s a far cry from the utility-inspired breastfeeding wares usually available. My only experience with breastfeeding garments comes from a baby shower - and it wasn’t pretty. If it comes in a box from K-Mart, it’s probably not high fashion.
Celebrity moms like Gwyneth Paltrow, Courteney Cox and Liv Tyler are all fans of Milkdudz. I’ll bet new Mommies get a little tired of receiving all the fashionable duds for the new little cutie and would like something to make themselves a little cutier - so check it out!
