I Wear My Sunglasses at Night…
Rarely, do I divulge the location to some of my favorite sites to score or know how to score vintage sunglasses, but Papierdollers I consider all of you to be like family, plus this is kind of my job being the “Vintageista” and all. This week’s top 3 picks is sure to help complete that chic look for Spring or Summer.
1. www.80spurple.com

This site in general is just awesome, but to score some PHAT (Pretty Hot and Tempting) vintage shades only tops off this site’s awesomness. For that vintageista on a budget, you’ll love the price range: Vintage collection– $15 to $58; Vintage Inspired collection– $14 to $169
2. www.Klasik.org

Cool collection of both vintage sunglasses and eyewear. This large collection cuts the confusion by seperating the sunglasses by era categories: pre-war; 1940s-50s; 1960s-70s; 1980s-90s.
3. www.Arckiv.com

Although this site has no online shopping available that is still not a reason exclude this store on your shopping list. That is, if you are ever at the Camden Market in London. This 13,000 sq foot retailer houses the biggest collection of high fashion vintage eyewear in Europe.
Enjoy!!!

Devil Wears Prada Stats

Unless you’ve been reading about important subjects like the North Korean missle crisis or Al Gore’s environment flick, you have got to be completely aware that The Devil Wears Prada movie is sauntering into theaters this Friday. Instead of the normal review (I will post a bunch of links to reviews on Thursday) I wanted to give some designer stats via Patricia Field’s interview in the New York Post.
Designers used: Over 100
Styling budget: (a meager) $100,000 -most clothes were borrowed, keep that Dennis Basso mink away from craft services!!!
Speaking of Minks: Price of Dennis Basso mink needed to be kept away from craft services: $30,000
Fendi Persian Lamb Coat: Price- $25,000
The observer has a lengthy (but interesting) article on the movie and its real life counterparts. Click here to read.

Ok so I went with a long title. Nothing could be more appropo when looking at the Jil Sander Men’s collection. It’s not that there are a range of colors from the photos. What’s attention grabbing is the designer’s vibrant use of colors. We’ve seen from the photos oranges, bright reds and blues that accompany the normal grays, blacks and whites. It’s as if the designer is wading in the pool before jumping in. Go ahead put color on the men, we won’t be upset. I’ll be posting some more images from the Burberry Prorsum, and Prada mens shows tomorrow.
