Anna knows best
Perusing the usual suspects (see links list to the middle right) when I stumbled on to designer Anna Cohen’s site. If you don’t know her, you need to. Picked out what’s definitely going to be my favorite jacket for the fall. Wondering though, where might I find a retailer in NY that sells Anna Cohen?

What’s next? Online Sample Sales?

Yup. The Art of Shopping, our friends who host that event during the year are having their first ever online sample sale. You simply login, or signup and get your shop on. Tell’em we sent you.

Easy blending that’ll have you blushing

Sometimes I jump right in and try a product before reading anything about it. Lip colour? That’s all I need to know to stick my finger in the pot.
So I tried Von Natur’s new mineral makeup line before actually reading the product info, and I was so impressed by the easy blendability. I tried a dark looking face and body shimmer in Sun Worshiper thinking it would be way to much for my pale skin. But, a few flicks of the blush brush and it really matched my skin tone, giving me a hint of natural looking flush.
Then I opened the press pack. Their tag line is “A Natural Hint of Color.” I couldn’t have said it better! (Plus, the natural moniker also refers to their often vegan certified products. Bonus.)
I realize the image above isn’t the best one to tout the company’s natural look, but I think they’ve really got it down. Even richer colors, like the Curry and Saffron lip colours, blend in easily and look natural. And you definitely want easy blending when you’re working with a black shadow like their Onyx Eye Colour.
Maybe it’s because Von Natur is a skin care company, but they’ve definitely got something on some of the other mineral makeups out there. Their products were much easier to use and I was really satisfied with the results.
Fashion Cost Analysis
One of the fun aspects of fashion is the irrational prices for items. Take for example this fur collar cardigan by Michael Kors.

Is it really worth $6,000? You decide.

Fashion is haunted by trends of seasons past. Normally you’ll find yourself wincing at old photos from an earlier decade when shoulder pads were in. Bell bottoms are now the thing as illustrated by our retro article this month.... [Go]
