But I live In America….

London Street Map Guide
Yes, I know we all joke: its cheaper to fly than to put gas in your car. But really, are you going to hop the pond to London to pick up those wonderful finds you just saw at London fashion week? No. And you don’t have to. I found the site that gives you a similar experience to shopping London’s most famous high streets, appropriately named www.streetsensation.co.uk.

This site gives you the feel of strolling down the street, peering into store windows. No worries about the exchange rates, all take major credit cards and have already switched the tags to reflect the price in American currency.

If this truly gets you in a London mood, don’t brush your teeth for a week, make a lunch of fish & chips and lager, plop down behind your computer and shop away!

Mackie lost in a fire? Need Solution…

Cher Cher Cher
Attention all drag queens, 70’s enthusiasts, and don’t forget our moms, because Cher is cleaning out not just the closet but the whole house. Sotheby’s is auctioning everything from cars to clothes and home furnishing, October 3-4 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The queen of comebacks (no pun) is rumored to be reinventing herself yet again and could use a clean slate.

No word on what new design and lifestyle direction she is moving in. Whatever it is, I’m sure there will be accompanying soundtrack. I believe in life after I sell my hummer and goth candlesticks…

Milan Radar

After London wiping the floor with New York, it seems to be Milan’s turn. Witness:

Salvatore Ferragamo - clean lines and vibrant colors
Salvatore Ferragamo

Giorgio Armani - chic, elegant design with a mix of dark thrown into the mix
Giorgio Armani

La Perla - fun with chiffon and the ability to be daring sans the underwear
La Perla

Pringle of Scotland - simple and reasonably so
Pringle of Scotland

As an aside, it may be just me, but I see a bit of a 20’s thing happening in both London and Milan shows (the Pringle and Armani collections in particular)

That Gap Commercial

Michelle has been belly aching about this since it first showed on her TV, and Lera feels the same way. I, on the other hand, see nothing wrong with it.
Gap Ad Audrey Hepburn
Nothing except the fact that they use an icon who is a fashion symbol and humanitarian around the world to help sell pants in a store that has had more changes than a Hell’s Kitchen hooker (no offense to the HK) and is desperately in need of clothes with identity.
