Used to be finding counterfeit clothing was easier than finding the real thing. Take a walk down canal street in NYC or any number of places and you too could own your very own counterfeit Louis Vuitton Insert Item Here. It appears those days are coming to a close (maybe), AP is reporting that the mayor of New York is about to open a can of whoop ass on counterfeiters in the movie business. You know, the people that record movies the night of release at movie theaters. You can easily tell the counterfeit stuff from the real deal because normally you may see someone not on screen walking in front of the perp’s camera setup or chatting loudly in the background distracting you from hearing the film being recorded.
How does this apply to fashion? Normally, where there’s one counterfeit item there is usually another. Those counterfeit copies of “Marie Antoinette” are usually next to fake Manolos ready to be hawked all over the U.S. … and Canal street.
