Truly Bad

Magazine Covers
Are these two of the worst magazine covers ever? Gawker takes a look at bad magazine covers and Vogue UK shares some of them.. On the hush, here’s one of our worst magazine covers.

What the heck are they doing in that photo?

Devil Wears Prada Tv Show?

Devil Wears Prada
Sorry for the unimaginative title but it’s early so I hope you can forgive. The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that The Devil Wears Prada maybe adapted for the small screen. Seems all of a sudden network execs are starting to realize that … gasp women watch TV and we even like shows that cater to us. The movie was good, the book was better let’s hope that they don’t screw this up.

The TOPSHOP Advantage

Top Shop
Even if the UK’s cutting-edge Topshop doesn’t launch here in America, the fashion megastore’s Style Advisor Service should be on the minds of retailers worldwide. Topshop’s offer stands unmatched next to anything I’ve ever seen in the States. Their professionally trained stylists transform an ordinary day of shopping into a fashionista’s dream:

Step 1. You’re prepped with a style advisor on your measurements and personal tastes.

Step 2. Either walk the shop floor with an advisor as your guide, or let them dictate which outfits would suit you best while you hang back.

Step 3. Take as much time as you need to try on, twirl, reevaluate — with your advisor by your side of course.

It’s as though you’re hitting up the perks of a personal shopper at Barneys or Bloomingdales, only there are NO obligations and NO fees. Topshop will even make house calls, dropping by your home or office to do your fashion bidding. It’s not surprising that with services like these, Europe remains the most style-conscious region of the world. Now if only America could add fashion awareness to its list of priorities…

Paul & Joe
I don’t know who these Paul & Joe blokes are, but I just picked up this mini-mini corduroy skirt on clearance from Target. For. $13. dollars. Envy me.

On Papierdoll

Papierdoll July 2008 Interview

Interview: Thomas Voorn
Sonia Pereira Murphy

Considering the now ubiquitous trend of disposable fashion where all that seems to matter is a cute factor, Thomas Voorn's intellectual take on clothing is not only refreshing, but enlightening. Voorn's fascination with clothing calls to mind an anthropologist intrigued with skeletal remains, a sociologist... [Go]
