Holiday Gift Guide - For the Girlie Girl

tinte

What’s more girlie than a pink package with a little heart border that’s called the Shimmer and Shine Box? Only the girl you give it to.

One of the best things about this adorable beauty kit is that there is obviously no wrapping necessary. What could you put it in that would be cuter than this pink and black visual confection?

What’s inside? The Tinte limited edition set includes double bubble lip shine, peaches and cream lip color and my personal favorite rose petal Shimmering Face Pearl. All in their own adorable vintage bottles and slider tins, nestled in white satin. Paint it all on with a dual lip and eye brush.

It just so happens that one of the gift exchanges I’m a part of has the theme of “shiny” this year…perfect!

Take a peek into Nadia’s Closet

nadiacloset2.jpg nadiacloset3.jpg

Nadia’s Closet
is the brainchild of Nadia Taseer, who sources and customizes vintage dresses for her seasonal collections. The black and gold 30’s top and little black dress. There will soon be online shopping, but in the meantime check Nadia and her collection out at:

Only complaint is that the wording is a bit small. As an aside, I will be 30 in a couple of weeks and they say sight is the first to go. So my complaint may be unjustified griping.

Showroom: Studio 009
Westbourne Studios
242 Acklam Road
London
W10 5JJ

To view the collection
Studio 009 is open
Monday- Friday
10am - 6pm.

Cheers!

Never let it be said that I don’t accessorize in terms of style and designer. The dress (this says holiday folks) and the necklace both from Bottega Veneta.

Holiday Gift Guide - For the hostess

candle

I am constantly looking for hostess gifts that are unique and more thoughtful than a bottle of wine. This is especially true around the holidays when you’re going to lots of parties, with lots of the same people. You don’t want to bring the party-giver a floral arrangement she’s seen at three other soirees you’ve both been at.

I love the candle option because you can personalize the scent and style to the hostess’s favorites. Plus, with SensoryFusion from Aromafloria you can take it a step further, combining an Aromatic Soy Candle, Aromabeads, and Room and Linen Mists into a great gift set.

I tried the Mangosteen fragrance, which is softly sweet, featuring notes of mango, grapefruit, pineapple, and coconut. Because I love the scent, I’ve found the products very versatile. I’ve got aroma beads in a decorative bowl on my desk at work, where I can’t burn candles. I’ve spritzed my pillows with the Linen mist, and added it to the water in my iron to make everything smell great! The candle I did not get creative with - experimenting with fire is never good - so I just burn it in my bathroom for company.

So if you think a candle is boring, think outside the box while browsing the Sensory Fusion collection and you’ll definitely be inspired.

Keep checking back to Papierdoll and the Papierblog for more great holiday gift ideas! It’s the fabulous girl’s guide to gifting.

Pinched (but cute) toes?

I am obsessed with all things grey (and have been since the fall shows last Feb), and so now that I have grey sweaters, pants and leggings, I need the shoes to swath myself in a completely monochromatic look. After searching high and low (i.e., all over the internet and W. 8th St), I appear to have found the perfect fit. But the ages old fashion dilemma of comfort vs. style emerges: they are adorable, but the lone reviewer at Shoes.com calls them “super uncomfortable.”

With free shipping both ways, and 25% off with the code fallsale, I suppose it’s worth finding out for myself.
