Taking it apart

Benetton
There’s the vest and possibly the scarf. You may have to improvise on everything else. From Benetton’s Fall Winter 06 collection.

ThePaperBagPrincess.com

In the midst of taking a break from one of the many papers and projects I have due in the next few weeks, I said to myself… “Self, let’s browse the net; let’s browse the net for vintage clothing… very nice vintage clothing.” So, I’m browsing and browsing and browsing, and I come across this site, ThePaperBagPrincess.com, and now I’m wondering where the hell have I been…under a rock…a huge, blocking all daylight rock?

The little parade of couture illustrated models is very cute. Founded by vintage/thrift guru Elizabeth Mason, the site is easy to navigate and provides a lot of content, as well as an online store (with brick and mortar versions in Beverly Hills and Toronto).

Where in the hell have I been?

Vintage Fashion

After quite a hiatus for the much needed time to acclimate myself with London (again) and the British school system, (I went back to pursue my MA in publishing…magazines that is) I’m happy to say I’m back, and with time and the ‘gump-sion’ to inform and keep updating on the good, the bad, the truly magnificient world of vintage fashion.

Now, obviously, since I’ve moved acrossed the pond, much of my entries will be on the London vintage fashion scene. I will not play favorites though and who or what ever I find a hidden gem I will mention.

So keep your eyes and pocket books posted to Papierblog’s Vintageista section, because the past has never looked so good.

Cheers,
Tenisha

Papierdoll July 2008 Interview

Interview: Thomas Voorn
Sonia Pereira Murphy

Considering the now ubiquitous trend of disposable fashion where all that seems to matter is a cute factor, Thomas Voorn's intellectual take on clothing is not only refreshing, but enlightening.
