Does Your Closet Look Like This?

Nan Kempner
Imagine converting your bedroom into a closet to accomodate your clothes. I’m talking 362 sweaters, 354 jackets items from Valentino, Gaultier, Balmain and many, many, many, many others. That is the Met’s exhibit of socialite Nan Kempner.

Holiday Gift Guide - For Someone Who Deserves To Be Pampered

cake

This product, its cute container and creative Web site copy were quite the buzz around my office (Web site copy is what we do!).

Cake Beauty’s Bake Me a Cake gift set from the holiday 2006 collection has it all. Think someone may need a little relaxing after the hooplah of the holidays? This is the kit for them.

The bottom layer of this “cake” serves up a hand treat trio, just in time for the winter weather and drying indoor heating. The trio includes Milk Made Velveteen hand cream, Milk Made Smoothing Hand and Cuticle Butter, and Ultra Nourishing Gloves. There’s nothing more luxurious.

The Frothing Threesome makes up the second layer of this lavish gift, with Supremely Rich Bath and Shower Froths in Desserted Island, It’s a Slice, and Creme de la Creme, tropical infused scents that call to mind warm beaches and blue skies - even during a snowstorm!

Lastly, make the relaxation sensation complete, with the top layer, a Mint Cashmere Cream Candle. All these treats, 0 calories. That’s worth giving.

24/7 Macy’s

Macys

I have no money at all this week. Pocketbook is bone dry. But even I will be at Macys sometime between tomorrow and Christmas Eve. I will do this at 3am, just to see what it’s like. Yup, Macy’s is open 24/7 between tomorrow and Christmas eve at the Queens Center Mall in the lovely NY city borough of Queens. Someone was answering my prayers for a publicity stunt.

In Chanel at 12

Dakota Fanning
All I am saying is run and pick up the January 2007 issue of Vanity Fair.

See Dakota as Red Riding Hood
See Dakota as Sleeping Beauty
See Dakota as Cinderalla
See Dakota as Rapunzel

See Dakota wearing all manner of Chanel. Would it be sacrilege to say that Lagerfeld has found his muse?

Singapore Fashion Week Review

Singapore Fashion Week

Ok, so it’s finally up, the complete review of Singapore fashion week. Why are we so hooked on this thing? Take a look at the photos. Read the review and you’ll understand. We’re almost sad that it’ll be awhile before we go back and the next fashion week we cover is New York. (insert sarcastic remark about New York’s pretentious, pushy, smarmy attitude here)

I’ll end the post in a positive manner. Enjoy your weekend!

Papierdoll July 2008 Interview

Interview: Thomas Voorn
Sonia Pereira Murphy

Considering the now ubiquitous trend of disposable fashion where all that seems to matter is a cute factor, Thomas Voorn's intellectual take on clothing is not only refreshing, but enlightening. Voorn's fascination with clothing calls to mind an anthropologist intrigued with skeletal remains, a sociologist... [Go]
