Colors in Fashion

Museum at FIT

Just went to see this exhibit at FIT and as can be expected, it was top notch. The FIT exhibit She’s Like a Rainbow: Colors in Fashion answers a couple of questions including, and I quote from the FIT Museum website:

“Why is red the color of passion and revolution? Why is blue such a popular color, whereas yellow has so many negative associations? Why is black today’s most fashionable color?”

It runs through May 5th, so if you happen to be in New York, head over there.

Ooh, if only I were scheduled to be in New York before May!!

How does the exhibit try to answer these questions raised on the museum website? With the pieces themselves or commentary/empirical evidence?
