Armani over the net

Giorgio Armani has always been the innovative designer with some stumbles here and there. Overall it’s fun watching his genius work its’ way down the runway. This time he decided to be not only the innovative designer but the communicator as well. Armani broadcast his couture fashion show over the internet and to a captive audience at a Paris art museum.
Here’s where my 2 cents comes in if you’ve followed this blog at all. It seems as if designers are mortally terrified of the internet and to a greater extent, the internet press. While there are some bad apples (I would have added a link but that alone would stir the controversial Kool aid), Armani shows that there are advantages to this media. While he was not the first designer to do such a “radical” thing, his name can only add to the tidal wave. The music industry learned the hard way about snubbing the internet, let’s hope fashion doesn’t make the same mistake.
