Projecting Power

Nancy Pelosi
Washington has always been known as the bastion of the unfashionable. With certain exceptions that has remained true. With the ascendency of Nancy Pelosi to the speaker’s chair things may be turning around. The New York Times today looks at style in Washington and the changing of the bland guard.

I don’t think that this is going to be some sort of major conversion, but one can always hope.

Going Mini

Christian Lacroix
Christian Lacroix has got the mini/micro thing down pat. I am trying to justify the purchase with the fall/winter season in it’s waning days. I say waning knowing that I woke up to 19 degree temperature here in NYC.

Quick Golden Globe Musings

A couple of things to note that I must say thrilled me to no end about the Globes.
First the full figured women were out and strutting like everything was a-ok, and it was. The over-the-top gown was left in the closet and more tasteful selections were made across the board. Ali Larter’s plunging neckline was bordering on a boob popping out, Salma Hayek’s dress said elegance and curve love. see photo:

Normally well-dressed Reese Witherspoon (as loveable as she is) disturbed me in her bright yellow strapless dress. Yunji Kim had my favorite dress at the show, simple, elegant and flowing. She went to the glamor deities and they answered her prayers.
