The Meaning of Chic
Send to a friend:
There’s this endless stream of necessary conciousness coming from Look Online’s editor in chief Marilyn Kirschner and her commentary on what is chic and modern (two overused buzzwords) in the industry right now. Kirschner’s commentary was prophetic in nature as many of her “predictions” prior to New York’s fall 2007 fashion week panned out to be true. It’s a treat to see her talk about upcoming trends for the season because she’s part of the few in the industry that seem to know what their talking about; rather than talking so much to the point that you’re convinced she’s saying something relevant. I could go on and gush about this video, but you’d think she were paying me to say this. She’s not. Click here to see the report.

I remember seeing those videos come up on Youtube and not watching them because they kind of gave off a tacky vibe to me at the time… you know, kind of like the vibe Lucky Magazine gives off…

I got the same feeling too, and it’s definitely not a polished affair, but once you get past the skyline and the weird cable access feel to it, the actual content is really good. She’s not glossing over the here and now she’s talking about what’s relevant in fashion. (or at least I think along those lines)
