Avril’s New, New Look

This was Avril Lavignes in Harper’s Bazaar a year or so ago. She was touting a more feminine/womanly look. In the Harper’s spread she was in Gucci, Manolo and other non-teeny bopper attire. She stated:
I’m starting to feel more feminine. I’m getting into hair and makeup and image. That’s the best part of being a girl.
Fast forward to the release of her new album (4/26), The Best Damn Thing, and we have the new, new Avril Lavigne this time she’s feminine but, maybe possibly less womanly. Though I won’t hold a grudge or call her out for not being true to her word, I definitely have to wonder what her stylists were thinking when they put her in tube socks, heels and fishnets. Did they forget what she told Harper’s? Was she supposed to be girly or was she womanly?

Have you seen her pictures from the CD release party? Speaking of horrible. She looks like that silly little girl trying to emerge in the punk world once again. Now I’m all about punk fashion when done right. But that is not ok!

Pssh. Or is she just a product with no style of her own other than what people feel like dressing her in? I have no respect for her as a musician, let alone as some sort of faux style icon. She is a pretty girl and seems to do her damndest to look like hell or at least minimize the pretty. It’s a shame and a waste.

A change is as good as a holiday…maybe she just got bored ! If it was for the publicity it seems to be working, now doesn’t it?

I think Avril is still emerging from her tomboy ways so she is bound to slip up from time to time. Avril is one of the most successful singers this decade check out this article below:
