Why Rehabing Works for Fashion

Rehab

The fashion bloggers online are yelling until their tonsils are deep red and swollen about the whole rehab photo shoot in Italian Vogue. I like it… I understand it.. yadda, blah, bippity, boo.

The Times Online looked at the rehab shoot and questioned whether it was forging new ground or groundlessly crazy damned insane. Being the opinionated whores that we are, we took a look at the shoot and surmised one thing. This is a non-issue and is fashion’s job. Thanks for reading.

Ok There’s more. What the fashion publications do is push the envelope. If they didn’t they’d end up being American Vogue. (did I just say that?) Remember Meisel’s State of Emergency? or what about his take on porn for the youthful set (but not quite)? Our own Reka Nyari loves girls that smoke. It’s the nature of things. So when Rehab Chic is on the pages of Italian Vogue I say fucking A. Do it. Why not? Anna won’t do it here, let someone else try something crazy (pardon the pun) and off the wall.

Amen. I love that shoot. It’s on my wall, in fact!

  2. Anne (in Reno) says:

Meh. It’s ITALIAN Vogue, that’s the difference. Over there this isn’t pushing the envelope, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it in a store window. American Vogue, I don’t look twice at. I’ll stick with the bloggers for now, thanks.
