Day 2: Yeohlee

Yeohlee is perhaps one of the top 5 fashion shows that we attend every season. It could be the fact that we are fans from her various exhibitions (at FIT, Kennedy Center for performing arts, etc), it could also be the fact that her book, Yeohlee: Work that intricately details work from her exhibitions and other art/design functions. Long story short, we through the whole impartiality clause out of the door at the very mention of her line. This season Yeohlee Teng showed why when it comes to structural design in fashion her peers are few. Using high waisted pants that stopped at the top of the model’s midsection and connected with a silk blouse, Teng created a look that was daring and bold if only from a design perspective. Other notable pieces included a slick silk poncho (seriously), a high collared suit with a demure split skirt that will be the rage in the business world. The imitators will do what they do, but we know where it starts. Bravo Yeohlee.

What a great show! That navy transparent poncho was so lovely as was that navy dress with the assymetrical hem. I loved it all, really — the shapes, the colors. Couldn’t have been better.
