Fashion Week Diary Day 7 - Milly, Nili Lotan, and Sylvia Heisel

My fashion day started with some preppy pep at the Milly show in the Salon at Bryant Park on Monday. The look was very Easy Coast/Hamptons with the cable cardigans tied around the shoulders. Not the newest look, but her prints really popped and it was a cheerful, well made collection.

Later that afternoon the Mercury Style Award winner Nili Lotan presented her collection in Chelsea. Not a problem since we were picked up in chauffered Mercury cars! The show was quite the event with a Max Factor representative giving out free makeovers, and plenty of other lounges to explore. Lotan showed lush fabrics and sexy silhouettes as well as more traditional suiting, sometimes mixed as separates with much more casual pieces.

The after party at the BoConcept design store was pretty fancy with a little red carpet and everything! Models were mingling with the hoi paloi wearing colorful designs by Sylvia Heisel. Heisel’s inspiration was a “wild garden” and you could definitely see her socialite clientelle wearing these bold pieces to some garden parties.
