What Will Hussein do at Puma?
Really wondering how Hussein Chalayan can help out Puma. While I am very familiar with Chalayan’s successful and storied career, I’m wondering exactly internally and now via this blog for world to see what he can do to add to Puma’s flair for the fashion/athletic dramatics. It’s not that I question his skill, far from, I just wonder if this is a perfect fit. Alexander McQueen for Puma made obvious sense. It was a no-brainer. But hindsight affords us the luxury of making those kinds of assertions.
The reality is that you never underestimate the genius of Puma’s CEO Jochen Zeitz (remember he brought in Jil Sander in the early 90s to help turnaround the brand), who went from taking the helm at an essentially dead brand to creating what’s now arguably the top athletic/fashion/lifestyle brand. But businessspeak aside, one look at Chalayan’s fall collection and the questions of will it work start to melt away. There’s already this athletic, taut look in his Autumn/Winter 08 collection.(see below) and here:

It’s pretty, it’s nimble, free flowing all at the same time. Puma in the hands of Chalayan is going to be a thing to be behold and the excitement is more than justified.

Shoe Crazy
Papierdoll Recommends

I really can’t take full credit for these. Manolo the ShoeBlogger found these Elie Tahari flats and I can steal his/her/whatever’s thunder. Anonymity is truly golden at times. What’s even more hilarious is the breakdown behind why you’re wearing these flats and I quote:
Manolo says, here is the delightful pair of the silver peep-toe flats from the Elie Tahari, the perfect shoe to wear with your new spring time dress, the one you had bought because it matched that darling ivory-colored half cardigan you had in your closet.

Omiru’s Guide to Banana Republic
This is an essential guide that you totally should completely have. Trisha Okubu’s guide to Banana Republic is a godsend for those who love the brand. Sometimes I gloss over various designers and fail to realize that the designers at Banana Republic for the most part create their own looks. They may follow some of the overarching trends but the reality of it is every now and again you’ll find something at BR that you may not get anywhere else. A good example is this handbag that Trisha found:

Bright Angles
Styled by Paola Tamburelli and shot by Dimitri Dimitracacos this latest multimedia feature entitled Bright Angles on Hint carries on the tradition that the online publication excels at: making the internet fashionable. The photography is absolutely gorgeous and there are several pieces I’d want to wear for Spring (which, in the end it the overall point). The bodysuit on image 3 is definitely one of the best pieces for Spring. It’s a red Valentino bodysuit for Wolford. How can you not want something like that?
