Modesty has a new champion in Cibely Dohle’s ‘the Costumes and Adornment of UAE Women’ fashion photography exhibit. While some in the West bristle at the thought of wearing abayas, veils or other head to toe coverings everyday, Dohle’s exhibit celebrates it and takes it a step further by featuring different styles. In addition to the standard black abayas, the women of the United Arab Emirates infuse color and embellishments while keeping the theme of modesty as a central tenet in their fashions.

The exhibit takes place May 26th to June 4th 2008, 11am to 7pm at the Ibin Dhahir Hall in the Culture Compound of ADACH.
