I Like your style

I Like My STyleWe love photography. We love seeing what’s coming next from the hodge podge of folks we call the general public. If anything, Most designer copy from folks like you. They see you walking on the street, sometimes they take photos of you without you even noticing and 6 weeks later your concept of fashion has somehow made it to a runway. While this is not always the case, it happens more often than not. Enter Ilikemystyle.net from culture journalist Adriano Sack. This sleek site highlights the best in you by letting you take control of your photos and uploading them to the website.

While this may seem like a recipe for danger (penis photos anyone?) There seems to be some level of moderation and the fashions come from weird locations in addition to the usual big city suspects. Will we be seeing clones of Ilikemystyle? We’re sure that they’ve already popped up, but regardless, this site definitely adds to the internet ethos and at the same time, nothing beats an original.

Back in the House Again

Reka Nyari

We love doing photo shoots, even on a shoe string budget. A majority of our shoots have been done in and around the streets of New York, London and Chicago. We’re taking it back to New York this time as our home photographer Reka Nyari is coming back to shoot with us. We always love her harsh and abrasive photographic style. So welcome back Reka and can’t wait to attend the next shoot. (Photos coming at the end of July)

See more of Reka’s work here.

High Style via Messenger

Messenger bags

Messenger bags are all the rage for the utilitarian in you. Yes the hobos are not going away and high end designer handbags and clutches are the staple for any fashion diet, but Timbuk2, a company known for it’s stylish (if not colorful) messenger bags have teamed up with Threadless.com and are going high end this season. For the summer they have an entire range of messenger bags that are great for the girl who wants a little bit of a rugged edge to her style. I personally picked out this fatigue-inspired bag. It’s a cute and stylishly edgy all at the same time. Take a look at their entire range here.

Weatherproofing your fashion

Raincoat

Summer in New York City has proven to be a bit harrowing on the weather front. The day always starts out sunny enough and somehow someway the rain manages to creep in out of nowhere. Received an e-mail recently from a company that is putting the fashion back into rain wear and had to share. Weatherproof® Garment Company had the audacity to send five gorgeous women into the streets of Manhattan in slick red raincoats made by David Peyser Sportswear. This simply wonderful PR stunt highlighted a really innovative product and in turn brought the cameras out as Manhattan onlookers reveled at the models and bright red raincoats. This is how to do fashion PR folks, a great product and an outlandish launch.
