The Speedo and Muffintop - Don’t Do it…Just Don’t

Although this month at Papierdoll highlighted men’s fashion I blogged very little about it. Maybe it’s because the men’s world is not a particularly major part of my domain. I care…but don’t care at the same time. It’s a bit conflicting. I can tell the guy I’m with at the time hey, don’t wear this, wear this, but for the most part aside from a little style nudging there’s little that I will actually do in the men’s fashion world. That being said, I read an article in the Telegraph today that really got my attention.
It was an article that focused on the what not to do fashionwise from the venerable fashion experts at Debenhams. Tops on the list…speedos. Speedos always seem to make this list and get a bad rep in the process. While it’s not the worst thing in the world seeing some comely young man in a speedo, most guys don’t fit that description and so the warning is well merited. Stay away from Speedos unless you’re Daniel Craig.
For women…The Muffintop is tops on what not to wear. You know, the hip hugger jeans that expose the fat around your waist. That fat that’s being exposed is apparently so hideous that Debenhams had to make it a top detractor. No one wants to see it and for some reason there’s been evidence that most of the women arrested on COPS wear that item. Mind you this is not scientific, it’s just a random musing from yours truly.
Soooo the moral of the story is wear what’s appropriate for your size and not all things names muffin are good.
