Ohhh Patricia

Pat Field

I won’t say a thing about Patricia Field’s new collection. Ok I’ll say a couple of words only because as a blogger I am afforded the luxury of speaking my mind when it is ok to do so (meaning all the time). I watch HSN from time to time and it’s a grab bag of cash for the designers. It really is. Here’s what happens. You go on HSN, you sell your stuff to middle America, make tons of case, then rinse, lather, repeat. So Patricia Fields has been on a tear recently, selling anything to HSN that’s not bolted down.

The initial question was, is this in fact the same collection as what she’s selling in her store? It looks to be the case. While the HSN collection does seem a bit toned down (there’s only so much innovation Kansas can deal with), this other collection is just out there in a Patricia Fields type of way. I’m talking heavy on the use of polka dots, lots of bright colors and asymmetrical everything. It’s almost doesn’t make sense, but this is fashion, so sense sometimes takes a back seat to creativity. more so than that, it’s Patricia Fields and who is going to tell her anything contrary?

The Independent has more on the new Pat Fields. [go]
