Women's Oxfords…new hipster classic or stupid, forgettable trend?

Recently Sienna Miller was photographed wearing a pair of skinny eighties stonewashed jeans, a white button down and oxfords;  It seems anyone who is vying for the top ingenue spot is donning the au courant casual style. 

Personally I think women are subject to enough pain, especially with the five inch heel rearing its ugly head the last couple of seasons, without being subjected to the discomforts that go along with men’s footwear as well. 

But the real question is this: will the oxford remain in the hipster niche and becom a classic along with the fedora, raybans, and fringed scarves, and perhaps then become adopted by mainstream America, or is it a passing phase easily overlooked and ignored outside of Williamsburg Brooklyn? 

They have potential, certainly, to be chic.  When worn with slouchy pieces they can affect an artists’ nonchalance.  And when worn with something tailored they can be a throw off to sexy androgyny;  It depends, ultimately, on which stylista the shoes are seen on.
