If I hear one more tired “spin!” on the old LBD acronym I’m going to shoot myself in the LBC (little blond cranium).

What is the fascination with this and why in the world of journalism does it seem to endlessly signal an incredible turn of cleverness?  We’ve got the LBD (little Black Dress), the LRD (insert red for black), and most recently I’ve read the LMD; That’s right, the little Marchesa dress.  But it doesn’t just stop there, oh no.  There’s the little black pant (LBP) too.  Every website, retailer, and blogger seems to have tried their hand at this, and the result is yawn, snooze, give-me-a-break-already-and-get-over-yourself-this-has-been-done-before.

How about the LBF?!  The little ballet flat!  The — LBB – little boyfriend blazer!  And ever so popular the past couple of seasons, LGH or F…little gladiator heel or flat.

Fashion writers presumably love two things: fashion and writing, both of which imply a modicum of inventiveness.  So, let’s rally the troops, get back on the creativity train (sans acronyms) and ride it all the way to the tents at Bryant Park.
