Typography and pics on a T-shirt, yeah, that's all right.

For years I've been snickering with my friends about how fashionably challenged one would have to be in order to make graphic tees part of their rotation. The grande dame, and perfect example, of such a faux pas is Paris Hilton. Think hot pink, sequins, and well, her face emblazoned on cotton and topping off a pair of sweats. Scary, right? I'm talking bump-in-the-night-something-is-under-the-bed frightening, actually. I wondered, why in the world does this mistake continue to be sold in stores? Who keeps on doing this to their wardrobe that it necessitates further production? When it comes to the Paris Hilton variety of graphic tee my opinion remains largely unchanged. And unless you got your rolling stones shirt directly from someone who actually attended/purchased it at one of their concerts, I'd say that theme is a bit overdone as well.
But I'm beginning to think not all graphic tees are made equal. There is a campy -- yet classic -- quality to the vintage variety (or one that just seems a bit more artistic) that I'm warming up to. In fact, I was on the Heritage1981 site the other night and found myself considering a purchase or two.
