Karl Does Clogs

00080m

In what may seem a surprising move to the glitterati, Lagerfeld held the spring/summer 2010 Chanel show on a faux farm replete with a straw strewn runway.  Although Chanel has never seemed to say “rustic” or “rural”, it isn’t too uncharacteristic of Lagerfeld to do something offbeat.

What I am DYING to know is how the Chanel shoe of spring will be received. The models wore clogs.  These were not some glamor infused Chanel concoction (save for a few flimsy details trying to make them as such), but the kind that you might find in a clearance section on zappos.

Do I blaspheme against the master of subtle, nuanced reinvention?  I hope not, and the thought is making me eerily uncomfortable.  But what I say is true, the models wore clogs.  And that is also something that I find to be eerily unsettling.
