Five Things You Need For Spring

I’m not typically one for thinking beyond the current season. I like to get excited about boots and sweaters when it’s cold out and bust out the sun dresses at the first sign of spring. But in fashion, we’re always looking ahead, so professionally I’ve had to start focusing more on the season ahead rather than the season we’re in. It’s very helpful when some experts who’ve more of a flair for forecasting – like buyers – chime in. Even if you don’t like the idea of a retailer telling you what you’re going to wear or buy, they decide what to sell, so they kind of have a big say anyway. Take their advice as what it is – trend driven. Incorporate it into your personal style rather than letting it dictate your whole look. Ken Downing of Neiman Marcus shares his five must haves for spring 2010 in the video above. Personally, I say skip the shorts.
