Burberry Prorsum SS11

The label's classic trench got a makeover for Burberry Prorsum's SS11 season. Instead of basic khaki, trenches were updated with leather sleeves and swatches of leather moving throughout the staple jacket. It was an abundance of leather, soft neutrals and shots of neon throughout the collection. The look was tough thanks to the leather leggings and exposed zipper detail on trench coats and skirts, but still fresh enough for spring due to bold hues like magenta, electric blue and lime green.

It looks like Christopher Bailey is reinventing minimalism for spring and summer 2011 with ultra tailored jackets and slinky leggings accompanied with a sleek clutch for day. For cocktail hour, Bailey sent out an array of sherbert-colored frocks in peach and cool mint with major texture going on. The saucy numbers with mini hemlines were styled with black leather motorcycle jackets for an effortless model off-duty look. Metallic silver was also prominent, making its way onto cropped jackets and thigh-skimming trenches. And if that isn't enough bling for you, check out the gold studded leather jackets that are part punk rock kid, part medieval warrior.
