Upon seeing this image, my partner in crime, Sam, crossed his legs. But he might as well crawl up into a fetal position because Serena’s pose for New York Magazine’s fashion issue is pretty compelling both from an athletic perspective as well as in highlighting her collection. She dishes on what life might be like after Tennis (keep in mind she’s a couple of championships away from being the most decorated female tennis player in existence – some say she’s already there).

Further in NYMag’s issue is a Fall fashion preview, a look at the 7 stages of womanhood (a pictorial/drawing fest remiscescent of HintMag’s earlier flash-based vignettes) a look at retail powerhouse Net-A-Porter among so many other items. NYMag’s Fall Fashion issue is becoming a must read at every subsequent release. View the Serena article here.

zigilane-swim

What is it about Zigilane Swimwear that has us waiting in anticipation for the swim show later this season? The folks at the office here are marveling at the Australian house’s previous collection primarily because it’s not your two piece fare. You have pieces like the ‘boy scout’ that’s strapless with flared out hips, you have creative uses of the zipper in the black and yellow ‘that bee’, the zebra print ‘mafia’ is curve appreciator. So Zigilane’s upcoming showing may turn swimwear on it’s ear and we’re looking forward to seeing the collection this week.

malan-breton
Yes we’re a women’s site, but not only is the Malan Breton collection a women’s favorite, but the men’s collection shown in the past has been an edgy foray into the designer’s mind. With men’s fashion week happening in New York…courtesy of IMG and with the Malan teaser’s full of intrigue, we wonder what this stalwart will be doing. Stay tuned here (for our sparingly light) coverage.

tori-praver-swimwear

You know that two piece that shows way too much without having enough of a stylish or aesthetically pleasing bent? You can ditch that now. Tori Praver’s swimwear collection has always been the answer to the never ending streams of similar-looking bikinis. As evidenced by her website photo above, the female form need not be a dare whiteboard for how much you can show. It can also be the stylish, the comfortable and yes, the sexy, all in one. Praver will be unveiling her collection during Miami Swim and we can’t wait to see what innovations come for the season.

lamarque-1

kendal-jenner-lamarque

Kendall Jenner is at it again, making certain designers huge. This one is deservedly so as the Lamarque collection is definitely a looker.

Here’s some background on the designer:
LaMarque Collection was born from the innovative mind of fashion designer Ifigenia Papadimitriou. The Montreal-based contemporary brand specializes in leather jackets, leather and mixed media sportswear, down-filled puffers, and Italian wool coats with leather detailing. The Fall/Winter 2013 collection marked the debut of the LaMarque brand, although the design and executive team behind the brand have more than 25 years of experience in the fashion industry.

LaMarque’s foundation and heritage is leather, but its vision and its design reach extends far beyond just leather jackets. LaMarque takes pride in the quality of each garment and believes that the workmanship of every piece is not just a matter of production, but a matter of artistry. Each piece is hand-cut, hand-stitched, expertly tailored and brilliantly styled, mixing a modern design edge with classical craftsmanship.
