Angelina Jolie can make anything look good. But it’s rare that something makes Angelina Jolie look good. That’s what St. John’s spring collection does. She’s been the face for St. John Knits for a good while now and the collection seems to be getting better and better. Our editor’s grandmother used to wear St. John’s just to illustrate how long they company has been around. They are now fighting to introduce their collection to a younger audience via Jolie. Is it actually working, the jury is still out. The clothes are beautiful and we’re talking about it, so that has to count for something. Take a look at the Spring collection here.

Gap Does White

The Gap ads are flying all over the fashion internet. The collection of white shirts unleashed on unsuspecting visitors is from Gap’s collaboration with the finalist from CFDA. Included are shirts designed by soon-to-be, if-not-already icons Philip Lim, threeASFOUR, Michael Bastien, Band of Outsiders and Philip Crangi. While the Old Navy stores are seeing declines in sales for being thought of as way too fashionable, Gap fears that not one bit since they’ve gone in that direction before. Besides, that glaring problem, the collection is definitely a must have as the white shirts all have their own distinct design direction. If Gap was looking to differentiate some of their vanilla offerings (excuse the play on words) this is the way to do it. See the complete collection and interviews here.

Eva for Bebe

There’s a reason why designers, retailers and the like go for celebrities in their advertising. They sell clothing. Moreso than models, (unless the model is a supermodel celebrity), they just have that certain cachet that you can’t get by putting an unknown in your ad campaign. Enter Eva Longoria once again for Bebe’s new ad campaign. The recent Mrs. Parker’s campaign for Bebe debuted recently to eye opening magazine readers everywhere. With less not an ounce of fat per millimeter, Longoria’s swim ad may single handedly be the reason why women will have a whole new set of body issues to deal with come the summer.

Freja
Must give credit where credit is due. Nick Knight shot an uber cool video of androgynous model Freja Beha Erichsen that left mouths open behind my shoulders. Agyness has nothing on Freja and competition is good for the soul. The pant adjusting end of video is particularly fun. If this is what Spring/Summer is going to be like, sign everyone up now. Video is here.
Someone brush me up on my Jazz, is the music Mingus?

Lacoste Tribute Site

The visual heavy content retrospective Lacoste website is a bit of a treat as it takes you back in time to the founding of Lacoste. The site features a bit of everything. There are products from the new line (the handbag you see above is a wishlist item) autobigography of current ceo Michael Lacoste. Design drawings from Lacoste’s past and looks thoughout the history of the brand peppers the site as well. It’s a bit of a time waster and fashion lesson if you’re interested. Visit the tribute site here.
