We have more photos from what is sure to be a lovely series of ads from Marc Jacobs. First off, I love how he decided to go small, yes you have to strain to see, but it forces you to really look. Because what are we if we are not all marketers on some level? If you were at his Fall show in New York you’ll understand that he has plenty to work with. His Fall lined abandoned the whole frumpy, layered, Full House twins look and went super upscale stylish. Yes, that’s the technical term.
One of the things I fear though is that his line for the fall will be constructed primarily for the 5′8″ and up set. As with most designers if you’re a size 6 and above you are really pushing the line as to whether the clothing was made for you. So that’s strike one. Strike two is that looking at his line for Fall you can’t help but feel that the more vertically challenged you are, the harder it will be to pull off one of his pieces. The infamous red coat speaks directly to my fears. It’s 3/4 length, slinky and looks oh so good… on a tall model. This was shot by Juergen Teller.
For those of you dying to see what it would look like in it’s original form on a magazine page, see below:

Considering the now ubiquitous trend of disposable fashion where all that seems to matter is a cute factor, Thomas Voorn's intellectual take on clothing is not only refreshing, but enlightening. Voorn's fascination with clothing calls to mind an anthropologist intrigued with skeletal remains, a sociologist... [Go]
