What Others are Saying…

About L.A.M.B:

Cathy Horyn of The New York Times writes:

“Last night I bolted out of the L.A.M.B show, nearly knocking over the publicist Paul Wilmot. Sorry, Paul. If ever there was a reason for a pop star to concentrate on her vocal skills, it was Gwen Stefani’s fashion meltdown. Among the words I wrote in my notebook, until my pen came to a stop, were “blob,” “very last season,” “bad secretary,” “astonishingly bad,” and “Ditzville.” I’m amazed—now—I had that much to say.” Read the full review ici.

Nicole Phelps of Style.com:

This show was far more harmonious. Stefani’s references are still rooted in sound, specifically the ska bands that were an early inspiration for her group No Doubt. But the collection, which looked like the sixties as seen by someone who grew up in the eighties, was altogether more wearable and on trend. Read her full review..ici.

The same show, two drastically different reviews. Who is telling the truth?

I’m going to go with what’s behind door number 1.

The drought is about to become a deluge with photographer Mike Brown’s photo journal from the Carlos Campos show at fashion week. According to Mike, Carlos Campos is teaching men around the world how not to dress like douchebags. We’re also featuring several designers throughout the day. Keep it peeled in this space.

Day 1 - Imitation

Kasia - Imitation of ChristMet up with the designer behind Imitation the new line launched through Imitation of Christ. Yes, the company has been around in some shape or form since 2000 with the high price points and now the move to sustainable fashion, but we think they may be onto something. In talking with CEO Josh Sparks (like the flame, right Josh?), we get the sense that Imitation is looking to relaunch with a renewed sense of purpose. They held a show last night at Snitch that was more rock concert than fashion show and if A.R.E. Weapons (the rock band actually wearing the line during the performance) is any indication, designer Kasia probably has the goods to turn this ship around.
