We’re mad at you Pat

Patricia Fields

Just when you thought your fill of Sex and the City news ended (please baby jesus make it stop), more news comes. This one is rather depressing. Patricia Fields is designing an exclusive line for Marks & Spencer in the UK. It’s coming out this fall and guess what? Folks here in America won’t see it, someone needs to start a petition online to bring Marks & Spencer to our side of the ocean. Post haste.

Jewish designer cold disses Obama…

Apollo Braun

In the you can’t make this stuff up category, Jewish designer Doron Braunshtein aka Apollo Braun to the fashion followers in NYC put together a line called Jews Against Obama. Whether this is self deprecating humor or some sort of publicity stunt remains to be seen as Braun is adamant that he is against Obama. He also put out a book awhile back entitled America, my whore so those with their torches about to fight the designer may want to calm down.

The sometimes gay, sometimes straight, sometimes bi and sometimes married designer released a statement that can be read here addressing his motivations for the collection (and we’re loosely using the word collection here). In it he states that Obama’s embrace of terrorist organizations (?) and his relationship with the crazy minister led to this collection of $250 heat transfer t-shirts masquerading as a fashion line.

Political Women and Their Bags

Michelle Obama

Come on, Tina, you could have found a better picture of Michelle Obama. She looks downright mean in that one. Bagsnob, guesstimated to surprising exactness the likely bags that the three females in the US Presidential race would wear.

For Cindy McCain who is due to be $100 million richer in the near future, the Bagsnob picked a Hermes bag, and why not, she’ll totally be able to afford it. For Mrs. Obama, she went with a stylish yet expected black Bottega Veneta Tri-compartment tote, which is verrryyy Jackie O.

For Hillary Clinton she went with a no non-sense Oscar de la Renta Doheny Clutch. The orange color may be a bit much though, Hillary is not known for the outlandish. She’s one tough lady though. Think to yourself, if you’re getting mugged down in a dark alley, who would you want to have in your corner?

What to Wear at a Mormon Party

Mormon Polygamist

Those Mormon polygamists are sure giving the Amish a run for their money when it comes to the eye raising practices. But to be fair, the Amish are on the straight and narrow and can’t be compared to a cult that married grown men to teens. Some of the most outrageous things were said about Blacks. Here’s a link.

But as the bonnets are being lifted and the public at large is seeing for the first time how these people were living, it’s getting to be a real eye-opening experience. (more…)

Style Prophet: Canadian Designer Leads Fashion's Future
Stephanie Nolasco

At the age of fourteen, Lacy Barry was given a religious premonition of her future with fashion. The word "ephoe," a plural form of the eight ritual garments worn by Jewish high priests, appeared in her dream. Barry, age 24, is the founder of Ephoe Inc., a label whose influences come from lush tropical colors, Audrey Hepburn and Victorian couture... [Go]
