People hate when someone says “this thing is sex.” Even here on the ‘doll’s blog folks constantly say, “can you please stop saying… this thing is sex.” The problem in this scenario is that this shoot on The Zoo really is Sex..They describe it as as sexual shoot (or some variation therein). So please, no hate mail. This is a sex-like shoot, for lack of a better term.

The Future of the Fashion Editorial : Jenny Haniver

According to Showstudio, Jenny Haniver is actually not the same of a person but a sort of hybridization of words to describe “practice of carving dead cuttlefish into angels and devils”. This 3 minute or so political fashion video editorial is definitely the future of fashion. You’re watching this story unfold with wardrobe from the collections of Acne Jeans, Charles Anastase, Fade, Kenzo by Antonio Mauras, Lacoste, Paul & Joe, Roberto Cavalli.
So many ooh and ahh moments and the end result in thinking is…”I need that… now.”
Definitely should not be missed. The video is after the jump.

Don’t Call it a Comeback

While Marithe+Francois Girbaud can be accused of many times trying to revive their denim brand, the truth is it never went away. The hip-hoppers may be mad though simply because they probably won’t be able to take possession of the skinny jeans thing and to be perfectly honest Girbaud USED to = hip-hop. The new ads though show a departure from the direction, but Francois will say that it’s not a departure. At a Girbaud event we attended last year, he was quite adamant about the fact that he never sought to focus on any one culture, range, music what have you. He stated (and this is a paraphrase) that he created comfortable uber stylish denim.
Will the masses want a skinny pair of Girbauds? Asked two years ago the answer would be a stern no. Asked now and the answer is a resounding maybe. But the caveat is that the Girbauds will tell you that theirs is not for the masses.

Fashion Editorials Online
Who says the internet isn’t catching up to print when it comes to lush fashion editorials? Here’s a select number of editorials burning up flat screens online today:

Mood Swings - Papierdoll Magazine - A bit of self promotion can do no harm. Shot by uber-photographer Kristiina Wilson, this takes Spring fashion and mixes it with a dash of elegance and a healthy serving of formal wear to make just the right statement.

Scenes From a Marriage - Zoozoom Magazine - This one was shot by Peter C. Christensen for online glossy Zoozoom. The eyecandy here is the hunk model used for the editorial…dammnnn. The fashions were not bad either, but if you’re looking for a workplace-safe way to ogle what you’d want your husband/boyfriend/friend-you-haven’t-slept-with-yet to look like, check this one out.

Happy House - Hintmag.com - If you’re in the market for a rustic one bedroom, Hint has got the apartment for you. This editorial shot by Therese Aldgard was done in Stockholm Sweden. The beauty unfolds with the first photo, a skirt from Karl Lagerfeld being the main wanted item.

Fashion:Matrix - LA’G Magazine - This super glossy shoot, shot by Anita Bresser takes a trip into the surreal. By lengthening out out the models and using a variety of shots against artistic installations as backdrops there’s this sense of depth not found in most other shoots online.
