Papierdoll Recommends
File this in the necessary summer accessory category with an asterisk and a star. Gwen Stefani has taken L.A.M.B. from celebrity wear with fly by night connotations into fashion legitimacy. A simple example of this is her Glazed Love Asti bag. Many a woman have been trampled when versions of this bag have gone on sale. Is it worth it? Yes. Many times over.

Gettin’ Paid

When using hip-hop vernacular, Gisele Bundchen based on her earnings in modeling, is definitely cakin’ yo. She was paid approximately $35 million last year for all of her modeling efforts. Being the bread winner in her relationship with Tom Brady means that she of course tells him what to do. But here are some other fun facts to convince you that working in fashion does have it’s perks (unless you’re a fashion blogger - hint to my bosses about my pay-):
-Bundchen pulled in $5 million from her work for Victoria’s Secret alone contract ended this year)
-Heidi Klum pulled in $14 million (includes working as host of both Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model)
-Miranda Kerr and Selita Ebanks both made the list of at no. 10 and 12 respectively because Victoria’s Secret knows how to pay their models damn it.
-Revlon is also no stranger to being generous as they paid Isabeli Fontana tons of cash which landed her at no. 11.
Here’s the complete list for all you aspiring models:
1. Gisele Bundchen - $35 million
2. Heidi Klum - $14 million
3. Kate Moss - $7.5 million
4. Adriana Lima - $7 million
5. Doutzen Kroes - $6 million
6. Karolina Kurkova - $5 million
7. Natalia Vodianova - $4.8 million
8. Carolyn Murphy - $4.5 million
9. Daria Werbowy - $3.8 million

Design Lab via Bebe

Bebe has always had a reputation of creating sexy pieces for the masses. Sometimes it’s borderline tawdry, but there’s a bit of mischief in all of us. Their new collection, simply called Design Lab carries on that tradition with exotic colors, slick cuts and a sexy provocative campaign focused on the shapes of a beautiful woman. We’ll defer to your own personal judgment as to whether you can fit into some of the items from the Design Lab collection but one can’t argue, this is Bebe through and through. Love the mirror photo in the ad campaign.
Check out their Myspace page.

Bob Colacello is Out

I’ve been waiting for event for awhile. While news of Bob Colacello’s 2nd printing was out there, the question was when it would happen. It’s happening now and we received an invite today (see above). What hasn’t been said about Bob Colacello and what hasn’t this man put on paper. Having been a close confidant of Andy Warhol and editor at Interview magazine, Colacello has seen it all. Somehow he’s managed to invite us to his book signing on Saturday with cocktails (i’m definitely going to be there, so stopping by is a must to say hello at least).
Here’s the info on the event:
Where: ADAM / 678 Hudson Street (NYC)
Date: Saturday, May 3rd
Time: 2 - 4 PM
PS: Our review of the book is going up later next week on the magazine side in required reading, because any book the covers New York City nightlife with Jack Nicholson, Cher, Raquel Welch, Yves Saint Laurent, Andy Warhol, Diana Vreeland is bound to be a must read.

Rumer Has It

If you’re trying to understand what it means to be the child of a celebrity witness Rumer Willis’ unveiling in the Ocean Pacific ads. While there won’t be as much of a hub-bub over the photos as opposed to Annie Liebovitz tres jolie coco spread with Miley Cyrus, because she’s 19. At 19, the jury is out on whether she is in better shape than her 40 plus mom, this is Demi Moore we’re talking about. She’s also looking to start that much vaunted modeling career that eludes the children of celebrities.
